Vine star Matthew Espinosa has signed on to star in CDS Films’ upcoming still untitled comedy-drama feature film. It tells the story of fictional teen pop star Jordan Jay (Espinosa) who, at the height of his fame, abandons his sold-out tour and runs away to a small town, where he meets Emily, a rebellious local girl who wants nothing to do with him.
Joining Espinosa in the film are Sarah Jeffery, Tava Smiley, Caitlin Keats, LaMonica Garrett (Sons Of Anarchy) and Allison Paige. Directed by Joshua Caldwell (Layover) from a script by Lamar Damon, it’s executive produced by Espinosa and CDS’ Jeff Levin. Angelique Hanus serves as co-producer, while Gary Binkow and Amee McNaughton will produce for CDS Films. The film will be the third from CDS Films, the film division of Collective Digital Studio, following Natural Born Pranksters, planned for day-and-date release in 2016, and Maximum Ride, based on the young adult fantasy franchise from James Patterson. Espinosa has more than 17 million followers on social media, and more than 1 billion loops/views on Vine.
