YouTube star Sam Pepper has received harsh criticism from his fellow YouTubers and celebrities after posting a video staging a fake kidnapping and murder of his best friend, Sam Golbach.
Pepper’s video titled “Killing Best Friend Prank,” features digital personalities Colby Brock and Sam Golbach. The storyline has Brock and Golbach being kidnapped from a desolate alley and taken to a rooftop where Golbach watches as a masked gunman in execution style shoots his best friend. Brock was in on the joke but Golbach was not.
In a time where gun violence is an all time high, social stars and celebrities have tweeted their criticism against gun violence being used as a prank, in addition, a petition was created to take down Sam Pepper’s YouTube channel.
In the end, Golbach has forgiven Brock and says this prank has made their friendship even tighter.
