Fox Digital Studio announces a new feature-length teen comedy called MONO. The film is directed by Jarrett Lee Conaway and written by Ronan MacRory and Bryan Madole.
On July 8, MONO will premiere across all major digital platforms starring several social media influencers who bring a combined 25 million social media followers to the film.
Christian DelGrosso (with 7.5M Vine followers), Jake Paul (with 5M Vine followers), Brandon Bowen (with 3.3M Vine followers) and Eric Ochoa (2.3M YouTube subscribers) star in the film acting as students.
Just from watching Bowen’s videos, we can only assume the kind of student he will make in the film.
Beyond these social stars, Kara Royster from Pretty Little Liars and Kathryn Newton from Paranormal Activity 4 also play as students.
It takes place at Highland Park High during a Mono outbreak which takes over and removes several of the most popular kids from school.
But it was no coincidence that just a group of students got the virus after partying together. Perhaps another group had something to do with this.
Throughout those two months, the outcasts experience things they’ve never got to before. It’s as if these students get the chance to rule the school for the first time ever.
In a blink of an eye, the outcasts get some time to party with the “cool chicks” and experience life as they imagined it if certain kids weren’t there to take over their thunder.
Having gone to a public high school, one can only imagine how a school environment would change if a group of popular kids weren’t involved for a period of time. What would happen once they all return after being sick?
Check out the MONO trailer for a little sneak peak. In just one minute, you can get an understanding of what’s to come in July 2016.
